Week 1: Raiders Come Up Short in Opener Despite Explosive Air Attack

Seneca Valley 14,  Norwin 17
CJ Brown completed 21 of 37 passes for a school-record 300 yards and a touchdown. Receivers Matt Plautz (8 receptions for 141 yards) and Pete Vicente (9-117) combined for 17 catches and 258 yards. Andy Berkebile recovered a Norwin fumble and Brown led the Raiders with 52 rushing yards on 14 carries.

Week 2: Raiders Outlast Erie-McDowell in Televised Thriller

Two high-powered offenses, two high-profile recruits. None disappointed, but Seneca Valley's were just a little better. Quarterback C.J. Brown threw for 304 yards on 25-for-37 passing and ran for three touchdowns, and Seneca Valley beat Erie-McDowell, 38-33 at home on a Thursday night FSN televised game.

Cameras rolled, and Seneca Valley quarterback C.J. Brown felt a difference.  It was last Thursday against Erie McDowell, and Brown's Raiders were playing a game broadcasted live on FSN Pittsburgh -- a game they would win, 38-33.

"It just felt bigger," Brown said. "I don't know exactly why, but to be on TV, the whole thing just felt bigger."  Full Story.

 

Week 3: Raiders rout host Baldwin

Seneca Valley 42, Baldwin 7
Maryland quarterback recruit C.J. Brown passed for 266 yards and rushed for 87 to lead the Raiders (2-1) to a rout of host Baldwin (0-3) in a non-conference game. Brown threw four touchdown passes and completed 13 of 16 attempts. He also scored on a 1-yard run. Seneca Valley outgained the Highlanders in total yards, 372-13.

Week 4: Raiders handily defeat Knoch

Seneca Valley 41, Knoch 20
The host Raiders (3-1) were led by C.J. Brown's 246-yard passing effort. Brown completed 19 of 33 attempts for two touchdowns. He also rushed for 101 yards, scoring on runs of 52 and 44 yards. Matt Plautz caught nine passes for 149 yards, giving him a school-record 84 catches in two seasons.

Week 5: Raiders drop section opener to Tigers

Seneca Valley 14, North Allegheny 56
The Raiders lost their first section game of the 2008 season 56-14 to North Allegheny.

Stay tuned as the Raiders regroup and travel to North Hills next Friday to battle the Indians in week two of section play.
